A Metro for a Growing Population of 400,000+
MetroWest is a multi-year programme co-ordinated by the Western Gateway Sub National Transport Body and WECA (West of England Combined Authority) to transform rail services in Bristol and the West of England
The Bath & Wiltshire Metro is not an official MetroWest Project, but discussions between all parties are ongoing
The existing population of the Bath & Wiltshire Metro area is 350,00+ - the size of a city. At present it has very limited public transport.
With the new housing planned it will to grow to 400,000+
The Bath & Wiltshire Metro will focus the growth around existing and new stations, thereby becoming eligible for Housing Infrastructure Fund finance to upgrade the existing railway
